The RHS is always looking for FOSTER FAMILIES.
Did you know that Foster Families assist in caring for infant, injured or ill animals while they heal or grew big enough to be adopted? RHS Fosters are an essential and critical part of our ability to save animals by allowing them to grow and heal outside of the shelter environment.
If you would like to know more about becoming a foster family, especially helping adult animals who are ill, please click here for more info or to register.
Sending a Regina Humane Society eCard is a fast and easy way to share your love of animals and honour someone important to you at the same time!
Your eCard donation will go directly to helping the over 4,000 lost, homeless and abused animals that will enter the Regina Humane Society in the coming year.

KITTY READER PROGRAM
In an age of video games and endless technology, many children struggle with reading and setting aside time to grow their reading skills. The Regina Humane Society’s (RHS) Kiddy Reader program helps children practice reading in a fun and engaging way, while also socializing homeless cats at the shelter.
Participants in the Kitty Reader program, sit in one of the Society’s cat adoption rooms reading either aloud or silently. The calm reading and the presence of the child both relaxes the cats and greatly improves their socialization, leading to more adoptions.
Each Kitty Reader participant receives a Kitty Reader Card that tracks their reading progress. Once 10 books have been read, they can choose a prize from the Kitty Reader Treasure Chest. Readers receive a certificate and picture with a shelter cat when 20 books are read.
The program is open to children between 7 and 11 years of age and their parent or guardian who must complete a short RHS orientation session. More information about this innovative program and application forms can be found on the RHS website, or by clicking here.
